1. Post a 2-3-sentence reaction by midnight on Thursday to what you read today during Independent Reading. Questions you could answer in your reaction (but you can react however you want): What was interesting? What was surprising? What was difficult?
2. Post 2 comments on your classmates' blogs by midnight on Friday. These comments should be positive, relevant, and appropriate. They should also be on two different blogs (not both comments on the same blog).

Independent Reading Book Choice
If you already know what you want to read, post your title and author choice in a new post.
If you're not sure about what to read, I would recommend choosing one of these. They are some books that students have enjoyed in the past few semesters, and that are also popular right now in the broader US culture.
The Fault in Our Stars, by John Green
Outliers: The Story of Success, by Malcolm Gladwell
Happier, by Tal Ben-Shahar
The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins
The Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini

Introduction
Hello, level 4 Reading!
My name is Ruth, and I’m happy you stopped by our class blog. I am interested to get to read your posts this semester and looking forward to getting to know all of you better.
I was born in Hollywood, California, and have lived in 3 states other than Pennsylvania. I grew up in Lancaster, PA My husband and I now live in State College, where we enjoy getting to know our neighbors and taking care of our garden. I love spending time reading, being outside, cooking, and being with friends and family.
I came to State College to begin my undergrad degree in piano performance and French. When I studied abroad in France, I realized how thankful I was for welcoming people there, and I decided I wanted to welcome international students to the US. As a result, I pursued my masters in Teaching English as a Second Language. I love teaching ESL because I get to meet fascinating people (like you!) from all over the world, and I have the amazing opportunity to learn from each of them. So thank you for being here!
